I'm a happily married, disabled, plus-sized, gypsy-hippie-semi-goth-type living in Tallahassee, Florida. I have been diagnosed with and am being treated for fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, recurrent depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I'm currently working on reducing my medications and other healthy things so that I will be up to the task up being a parent (hopefully someday soon), though I know I will need the help of some extra hands! I was granted Social Security Disability on 9/16/03 after three years of appeals.
I am a Dianic Wiccan, currently solitary, also incorporating Shakta Hinduism into my spiritual practice. My matron goddess is Kali Ma. I dedicated myself to Her almost 20 years ago, at my initiation. I love all things from India. I'm very much into body art/modification and it's also part of my spiritual practice. You can see most of my other interests listed below.
I have a B.A. in Art History with a minor in Women's Studies from Florida State University and an A.S. in Nursing from Tallahassee Community College. I'm a registered nurse and have kept my license active even though I haven't worked since August of 2000. I'm a crisis counselor and a sex educator. I am waiting impatiently for the day that I am well enough to do something in my field on at least a volunteer basis, or possibly even go back to college.
I've been very happily married to my soulmate, prØphet, since Beltane (April 30), 1995 and we live with our cats, both those who are currently on this plane of existence and those who are with us in spirit.
As I am mostly housebound at the moment, I especially welcome emails (and LJ friends!) from others with similar interests! I would LOVE to hear from people from Tallahassee who are a bit odd (to put it mildly) like me!!
